Ball & Jewel model 812 feed roll granulator, no S/N. 8″ x 12″ feed throat, 3 knife open rotor. 2 bed knife cutting chamber, 25HP 460V rotor motor. Chain and sprocket driven feed rolls. Spring pinch top roll is an 8″ diameter x 12″ wide smooth steel roll. Lower roll is a 6″ diameter 12″ wide knurled steel roll. Rolls are in an off-set position. The rolls are powered by a 3/4HP 1,725 RPM DC motor through a 19:1 gearbox with an output speed of 91 RPM. Blower discharged via a 5HP 3,480 RPM motor with a 4″ OD outlet aluminum blower impeller. Machine is mounted on casters, complete with starter and controls for granulator. DC drive for feed rolls is a constant on configuration with no variable speed control.
